  11. I have just released version 2.0.  There are only cosmetic
  12. differences between this version and the last version.  These
  13. are:
  14.  
  15. o    The file YTEX.LOCAL is renamed to YLOCAL.TEX
  16.  
  17. o    The file YTEX.MATH is renamed to YMATH.TEX
  18.  
  19. o    The file YTEX.USAGE is renamed to YUSAGE.TEX
  20.  
  21. o    All the yTeX source files have moved from TEXLOCAL:
  22.      to KS:<TEX.YTEX>.
  23.  
  24. The new version is due to a slight restructuring of the source
  25. files.  In particular, there have been the following name
  26. changes:
  27.  
  28. YTEX.MACROS --> YTEX.MAC
  29. YTEX.BASE   --> YBASE.MAC
  30. YTEX.FONTS  --> YFONTS.MAC
  31. YTEX.USER   --> YUSER.MAC
  32. YTEX.LOG    --> YLOG.MAC
  33. YTEX.FIXES  --> YFIX.MAC
  34.  
  35. In addition, there is a new file YSITE.MAC which contains
  36. settings and definitions appropriate to the yTeX installation at
  37. a particular site.

  39. These changes were made to make yTeX easier to transport to
  40. installations where, for example, file names can only have six
  41. characters in the name and three characters in the extension.  In
  42. addition, the sources no longer refer to logical names such as
  43. TEXINPUTS:; instead, they use a prepended string \ytexlibrary
  44. which is defined in the YSITE file.  (On OZ the definition in the
  45. YSITE file for \ytexlibrary is TEXINPUTS: so the behavior of yTeX
  46. on OZ should not change.)

  48. Note that the YUSAGE documentation file has not been updated to
  49. relect these name changes.  If anyone feels like doing this, they
  50. should feel free.

  52. If you maintain yTeX at another site, you should import the new
  53. version immediately.

  55. This will be the last change I make in yTeX for quite a while.

  68. OK, OK, I updated the documentation file to show the new file
  69. names.  If I really get motivated, I will even add stuff to the
  70. documentation about all the wonderful new features that went in
  71. months ago, like \twocolumntext and \doublecolumn and \maybeinput
  72. and cross references and bibliographies and \yesornop.  Better
  73. yet, maybe someone else will get inspired and do it for me!
